Our double belt presses are widely used in the production of pre-pregs out of fiberglass and carbon fiber composites, and also for the compression of glass fiber/carbon fiber mat, web or cross-ply with thermoplastics.
The modular design of Sandvik TPS press systems enables pressure, heating and cooling to be incorporated into in a single continuous process. The ability to carry out all the stages of production – heating, reaction, pressing, cooling and confectioning – in one continuous, short cycle system has obvious benefits in terms of productivity. This process also enables the accurate control and adjustment of each stage to deliver a high quality end product.

Throughput rates depend on individual product types – including fabrics, resin types and press processes, but our expertise in both steel belts and press engineering means that non-wovens and many fabrics can be treated in widths up to 8 feet. And we can design in all necessary controls such as edge guiding and tension control to ensure both efficient press operation and optimum product quality.
