Sandvik expands its food technology portfolio

Sandvik Process Systems (SPS), a world leading supplier of Industrial Processing & Handling solutions has acquired the Dutch company SGL Technology B.V. (SGL).  Based in Breda (Netherlands), SGL is a leading company with more than 30 years of experience of design, manufacturing and installation of customized machinery and equipment in the food sector, especially for the sub-segment chocolate.

The acquisition is based on a long and successful cooperation in the engineering and production of tailor-made processing machinery and equipment for chocolate. This further expands the technology portfolio that Sandvik Process Systems can offer to the food market. The new portfolio includes chocolate moulding lines with different types of depositors, Rotoform pastillation plants and chunk extruders, turn-key food applications, conveying systems and packaging equipment. The consolidation of Sandvik Process Systems and SGL Technology enables us to deliver a wider range of engineering products and services, extending Sandvik’s offering to be a more complete supplier to the food industry.
